This is the second year for the contest. The outpouring of support and interest from area communities and students has encouraged the founders and supporters to make the contest an annual event. Teens in grades 7 through 12 and adults can apply in 9 categories of art and writing for the chance to earn awards and have their works published. Future publications will be available each spring. The 2013 contest deadline is Jan. 24th. The age divisions are 7/8th grade, 9/10th grade, 11/12th grade, and adult. The categories in literary art are fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and song lyrics. The categories in visual arts are color art, black and white art, photography, 3D art, and digital creations.
